From Family Home to Senior Sanctuary – A Place Where Memories and Nature Embrace
Grand Haven began as a red brick mid century modern. The beloved family home is located at the north country edge of Grand Junction, Colorado. Twelve years ago, my late husband Roger fell in love with the grand scale of the house and its unique features along with the sprawling yard that welcomed our four children to play, celebrate, and grow. Over the years, the home nurtured countless memories of laughter, holidays, and fire lit family gatherings under the stars.
After Roger unexpectedly passed in 2021, my children and I turned to each other in grief for healing, and we found solace inside the strong protective walls of our beloved home.
A little later, my new partner Brandon joined the family, and we began to face a new dilemma. Kids were growing up and starting to leave. We knew we couldn’t keep up with the large house without being owned by the tedious upkeep, and as we grew older it would just become a bigger burden on us. But the place was special, the house was family, and I couldn’t bear to leave it. One day as I strolled through the shady grass and pondered the neighboring fields where families of deer munched their grass, I got an Idea.
I shared my vision with Brandon, a vision where this home would continue to provide shelter for the spirit of family. This time, the family would be elders from our community who needed a place and assistance, and caregivers to provide, all under our expansive roof. He immediately fell in love with the idea, so here we are.
Grand Haven, a sanctuary for seniors has come into focus with over 8,000 sq. ft. of living space available for 14 residents and their visiting friends and families. Here, beautiful landscapes and cozy spaces offer residents security and connection with the tranquility of nature. Our team is dedicated to creating a warm, family-centered environment that mirrors the love and care this home has always offered. At Grand Haven, we combine the highest care standards with the peace and inspiration that Western Colorado’s natural beauty can provide.

The Heart and Vision
Behind Grand Haven
Brandon
A former Navy chef, has also experienced senior care life from the inside with his experience cooking for institutional nursing homes. His interest in senior care woke then, and he believes – things should be done better.
Jeana
Mother of four and life long caregiver, has a masters in nursing and is currently an advanced practiced nurse and midwife. She, like most caregivers, exists to do good for all who are in need.
Together
Led by a higher power, they have come to believe that the key for exceptional care is the people who provide the care.
Therefore, Jeana and Brandon turned an idea into a business which equally provides for the residents, the staff, and the premises where they will live and work.
